Home Photograph-My Mother

As a child my mother would sing the Lord’s Prayer with her rich, full alto voice while cooking, cleaning and washing the dishes.  This song was a ritual in our house.  The fullness of her voice would bring the words alive.  She would then sing, “God Bless The Child Who’s Got His Own” by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr.  Her voice would make you stop whatever you were doing and just listen.  My dad called her his “Song Bird!”
